The Broadcom 9500-8i is a three-mode NVMe/SAS/SATA storage controller based on the LSI SAS 9500-8i chipset. It is ideal for high-end servers or workstations using high-performance internal storage. It has the ability to support NVMe, SAS or SATA storage devices in a single drive bay, providing maximum flexibility in server system design.

With up to eight internal ports, up to 1024 SAS/SATA devices or 32 NVMe devices can be connected to the Broadcom 9500-8i controller for excellent scalability. The Broadcom 9500-8i NVMe/SAS/SATA 12Gb controller is based on the SAS3808 IO controller and features the latest x8 lane PCI Express 4.0 connectivity, providing enhanced connectivity and maximum performance required by critical applications. In addition, the low-profile adapter fits seamlessly into any small form factor.
